In chronological order of dates of their being shot, the four US Presidents were:

1865-04-14: Abraham Lincoln (died 1865-04-15)
1881-07-02: James A. Garfield (died 1881-09-19)
1901-09-05: William McKinley (died 1901-09-14)
1963-11-22: John F. Kennedy

Kennedy, of course, died the day he was shot.

Regarding their service in the military, Garfield and McKinley served in the US Army, Kennedy in the US Navy, and Lincoln in the Illinois Militia. Garfield, having served from 1861-1863, achieved the highest rank of them all: Major General.

Eiffel was hired by the French Panama Canal Company to design the locks for a proposed Panama Canal. When the company failed, Eiffel was caught up in the scandal and was found guilty of misappropriating funds, but got off on appeal. He had little to do with the financial management of the company – he was just a hired contractor – but his name made him a target for prosecution.
