Africa has 54 countries and a couple of disputed territories (Western Sahara and Somaliland). South Sudan is Africa’s newest country, officially born on July 9, 2011.

Easter Sunday is a moveable feast, meaning it is not fixed in relation to the civil calendar. The First Council of Nicaea (325) established the date of Easter as the first Sunday after the first full moon (the Paschal Full Moon) following the March equinox.

The Warner Brothers corporate name honors the four founding brothers born Wonskolaser from Poland. The three oldest brothers, Harry (born Hirsz), Albert (born Aaron), and Sam (born Szmul), were born in Poland while the youngest, Jack (Itzhak or to some sources Jacob), was born in London, Ontario, Canada

The three elder brothers began in the movie theatre business, having acquired a movie projector with which they showed films in the mining towns of Pennsylvania and Ohio. They opened their first theater, the Cascade, in New Castle, Pennsylvania in 1903.

John Wayne and his drinking buddy, actor Ward Bond, frequently played practical jokes on each other. In one incident, Bond bet Wayne that they could stand on opposite sides of a newspaper and Wayne wouldn’t be able to hit him. Bond set a sheet of newspaper down in a doorway, Wayne stood on one end, and Bond slammed the door in his face, shouting “Try and hit me now!” Wayne responded by sending his fist through the door, flooring Bond (and winning the bet).
