Some fascinating theories are currently being presented in the OP of a new thread in GD: **Is there a deep state or cobel that is controlling the government?** I’m willing to overlook the misspelling of what was obviously meant to be “cowbell” and look into some of the deeper questions being raised. I’m currently composing a detailed response which I can only hint at here as it’s going to take a lot more serious thought to complete. But I thought it was most astute to recognize that in the modern era both Democratic and Republican parties are vulnerable to Pavolvian responses to cowbells. But there’s lots more insight there, and that’s what I’m working on. So in other words if say 20 people or more are running for the democrats party they determine who will be running. This is probably the most damning exposé of the Deep State I have yet seen, and it’s so true. Any time you get 20 or more people together nowadays, they pretty much determine who is going to lead them. There’s nothing you can do. Democracy as we know it is dead. > Many Asian countries are pro businesses and pro free market but do step in for grater good of country. The Italians are the same way. The grater is indispensable to good cuisine, and I particularly support its use in the preparation of fresh-grated Parmesan (Parmigiano-Reggiano) on virtually all pasta dishes, along with a judicious sprinkling of fresh basil. As I see it, the cowbell is basically a dog whistle for imbeciles and halfwits, of which the distinguished OP of that thread would be an example. Those too stupid to discern the hidden meaning of a dog whistle, and continue to sit there in a sort of slack-jawed motionless stupefaction, can usually be roused to action by the sufficiently raucous clanging of a cowbell, which eliminates all subtlety. ---

In any number of other folks’ threads I’ve asked the mods to fix typos in titles. In **Red** ’s case I strongly suggest they restore “cobel” to its original idiocy. We need some new snarky memes around here, and that one’s a natural. ---
