Well, that applies to the scenario where you have just been lighty bitten, and you are about to turn. That’s one scenario where somebody might shoot you. But sometimes a horde of zombies is bearing down, and they will just tear you apart and eat you up so there’s nothing left of you. In that scenario, the shooting is to save you from being torn apart and consumed. ---

True. And I guess often the shooter isn’t asked to shoot by the shootee, they just know they have to do it to protect everyone else. ---
