You’re a case in point, what you call a howling mob is actually just a community expressing its standards. You repeatedly express bigoted sentiments and then you complain of persecution when the community condemns your behavior. I think that you genuinely don’t understand that some people find your bigotry unpleasant and therefore there must be some other force at work. In fact, I think a lot of people just don’t like you, I know I don’t. It’s your personality, work on it. ---

What a troll wants is attention. A few trolls might be somewhat particular what kind of attention they want, but most just want attention, a lot of it, including well-meaning attempts at gentle persuasion. Any response at all is food for their twisted annoying little souls – witness the current round in this thread with the octoid. If you were to conduct a poll, I think you would find that most responders agree with this view rather than yours. ---

I’m sure if I repeatedly expressed bigoted statements I’d have received some form of official reprimand for doing so. Now, if by bigoted you mean anti-communist, anti-socialist, anti fundamentalist, and anti- radical I suppose you’d be technically correct. ---

Are you crazy? Hopefully I can ask that. My spreadsheet of untouchables doesn’t include you. Show me a thread where I jump in to do what you claim? Are any of you folks capable of honesty? But to answer your question, as poorly framed as it is, of course I participate in other threads. Politics, GD, sometimes GQ if I know the answer or think I know the answer, on occasion some threads about music or video games. At the moment, the big issues in the world that interest me revolve around populism, the growth of Orwellian illiberalism in the west, and the Coronavirus.
