Perhaps he’s one of the many low-activity users who lost his old userid/PW in the transition and is now a (tolerated) sock under a new name. Or perhaps, as his OP suggested, he was a lurker not a poster. Or he’s a troll still wearing his sheep’s clothing. Who will soon enough show his true skin. And be duly banned. With no disrespect, you seem to have a very sensitive troll detector that IMO is prone to false alarms. I, OTOH, have no troll detector until he (why is it almost always a he?) is obviously showing his jerkitude wall to wall. ---

Apologies aheadbof time for ruining the fun vibe y’all got going, but I just now saw this post. It’s unclear if you’re replying to me. (I didn’t get a notification, but I wouldn’t if you hitbthe wrong reply button.) But, if so, you misunderstand my post. I didn’t call them a troll, but clarified why their post was seen as suspicious by the previous poster. Your counterargument seemed to miss their point. I personally don’t think it’s a good idea to wait until a troll is already causing damage to point out reasons to be wary. If they aren’t trolling, it will amount to nothing. But, if they are, it helps people not be fooled. That’s the purpose of this thread, as far as I can tell. You don’t need to read here if you only care about the obvious trolls. I don’t know if Godwin is a troll. But I am suspicious that they signed up after the changeover. If they are an old poster who reregistered under a different name, I’d expect them to ask when they registered, not months later. And it is a suspicious name. If they turn out to be a fine poster, great. But now people have a heads up. ---

I was pegged as a troll when I first started posting here, so I take every allegation with a grain of salt. I tend to err on the side of believing people are sincere. But even if certain posters are not actually trolls this thread still functions as an outlet for cataloguing annoying behavior. ---
