I’m a fan of the both authors, slightly more of the Co-Dominium/Empire of Man, but their work on The Mote in God’s Eye was incredible, one of my top all time favorites. And, let’s be honest, the gripping hand metaphor works so very well for situations beyond the simple binary either/or that our two handed format encourages! ---

Breathless pontificating? All I said was that we should be considering all scenarios, including the one where this is part of a larger plan by malign actors, including Iran and Russia. This should not change Israel’s actions one bit and I am not criticizingn their response. We would do the same (and pretty much did after 9/11), and it may not be the case, but military planners should be thinking about this as a real possibility. Given that they appeared to be blindsided by this attack, that doesn’t seem to be too much to ask. I know, crazy huh? So nutty you had to go complain about it in an unrelated thread about trolls. Do you realize that we are on the same side in this conflict? Or is this just a knee-jerk response to anything I say that you hope isn’t true? Or do you think it’s wrong to worry about what the enemy might actually be up to, so you can prepare for it? As I said in that thread, “Hope for the best, but expect the worst”. In warfare, that is very good advice. ---

I have actually asked Miller about my earlier “What were you THINKING?” thread for a bitch at another non-troll poster who doesn’t (hopefully) need a dedicated pit thread. We’ll see what they think (not that I need permission, but among other things wanted a second mod-in-mod-hat opinion on the title). ---

JakeRS - trolling with his GD race thread, or just clueless European? I mean, I admit, a Serb would naturally have a much more ethnicity-focused than race-focused view of things. But no-one with any understanding of the world and history thinks African-Americans are still their African ethnicities, right? ---

You might be right. One stat stands out about them: 271 topics created vs 169 posts created. Clearly they’re one of those posters who just creates a new thread for every dumb thought that pops into their head. And rarely returns to post in them again. ---
