Thank you very much @What_Exit - that was (as I mentioned in ATMB) the one thing absent from the cited moderation I found puzzling. Thanks to all in the modloop who worked hard to try to find a solution for all, though I fully accept that there’s never going to be 100% agreement on any such. There are times I think we should all ruefully pit _ourselves_ for being a cantankerous bunch! ---

Weekend can slow us down. The suspension was step one and the topic ban we then had 30 days to figure out. I’m just trying to get the wording right for the ATMB announcement, the behind the scenes stuff is mostly done. More like the “funny” uncle that makes a couple of badly off-color “jokes” that you that might give you a guilty chuckle, and then feel bad about it later. The one with _one_ point left on their license because they keep driving impaired but isn’t worried because he hasn’t hurt anyone yet. The one with two ex-wives he’s supporting because he kept cheating on them while married, and is still somehow shopping for wife number three. Not absolutely beyond redemption if they worked at it, but is still a major disappointment. ---

If he’s a trock of an existing poster it’ll be interesting to see who else has made a sudden disappearance. Far more likely he’s a trock of a previously banned poster. But one can hope. I’m sure the Mods enjoy bagging the occasioanal twofer. ETA: @DocCathode : you did not miss much. Thanks. Have we talked about the Herd guy? He did say that anybody who was ‘sane and rational’ would agree with his position. Eventually, a mod told everybody to not make personal insults. Anybody know just what is going on here? Everybody gives the same answer ‘possession is illegal without prior permission from authorities. The man in your hypothetical is guilty regardless of his reasons for having it.’ Minkman ignores that and say what he is interested in is ‘How do real world computer systems get trained to recognize child porn without breaking the law?’ I bring up that if that is the question he meant to ask, why didn’t he start a thread actually asking that question? Why start a thread where the OP is a long, detailed hypothetical completely unrelated to that question? On Preview, he has answerd. I find his answer thoroughly unconvincing and rather suspicious. ---
