I’ve used that kind of meticulous analysis to identify socks on Wikipedia before blocking them. It gets easier the more you do it. ---

Cromulant is a perfectly cromulent alternative spelling of cromulente in parts of upstate New York. Doesn’t make someone a sock just because they’re not the only one to spell it that way. ---

As you said, some people have tells, which might be writing style, subject matter or just similarities in what they tell about their location and background. ---

I see there was speculation about the account being a sock as well. I would call it the most successful forum troll I’ve ever heard of. It’s amazing to be around for such a short time and yet somehow literally impact generations. ---
