It was clearly a reference to [this thread](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/please-change-the-name-of-this-thread/972714), which was just linked to.

And yes, you did have some asshole responses there.

Now, I personally think that if you aren’t familiar with conventions on this message board, then you might not understand that there is some expectation of civility on the About This Message Board part of the board. Especially when you are bringing an issue to others’ attention and asking for help. Just note that while only a moderator can take action, any issue brought there frequently receives input from the rest of the community, and often those comments help influence the outcome. (Not always, of course; many times the moderators just use their own judgement and/or enforce the rules as written without community input.)

If you want to speak only to moderators, you can use the flag function on your original post (you click the **…** at the bottom of the post and then click the flag icon). Doing so will send a private message to the moderators who handle that forum, and someone can help you without involving the rest of the community.

I know some people have accused you of being a troll, and maybe you are one, but I also see you trying to be reasonable sometimes so I figured I might try to help you out a bit.
