“[Tankie](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tankie)” is a perjorative for leftists who support authoritarian Communist/Socialist states and leaders. I think it’s more used in England than in the U.S., as the same question came up with someone started the “[Roger Waters is a tankie](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/roger-waters-is-a-tankie/969234)” thread in the Pit a few months ago.
