Truck Commercial Question

[QUOTE=treis]
Of course no other company has done this type of demonstration because it doesn’t demonstrate jack. All it does is convince people who haven’t the slightest clue about vehicle performance to buy their trucks.

Well, in my case, where I do have a clue, it got me to seriously look at the specs of the new Tundra, and to do some comparisons of similar models from the others. Since I bought one, it means that I believe it to be the best of the current ones out there, on many levels.

Ha! The steepest road in the US is 31.5 degrees, and boat launches are a good deal less than that. Unless you are going off-roading with your boat hooked up you aren’t going up a 45 degree slope.

You’ve apparently never launched at several ramps on Cumberland Lake or at a few ramps on Herrington lake… not all ramps are created equal. I’ll see if I can find a pictiure of the Cumberland Point ramp, it’s one of the steepest that I know of.

I’m not looking for an argument, but if you make a stupid statement, you will get called on it around here. Fighting ignorance and all that.
Well if you want to know the truth about trucks you might look here and see what the actual parts look like under the skin.
Of course then again you might not. :smiley:

There is a difference between a stupid statement, and taking a statement out of the full context of the post(s) surrounding it… at that point you might as well said that a Peterbuilt could do it too… and you’d be right. I placed a “bravado opinion” in the middle of an otherwise factual post and that is all you can argue with?

And a link to a Ford site for the “truth” about trucks is about the same as me pointing to the Toyota site for the same info. Look at the JD Power comparisons, atleast they dont have a bias.

Edited to add - the ford site is not current, and does not include the specs for the 2007 Tundra (in case you forgot what vehicle we were discussing)
