I think Godric was 2000 years old, and the King 3k.

If so, then why did Eric Northman say in the previous season that Godric was the oldest vampire in North America?

I don’t like Jason’s storyline. I don’t get why THIS particular warm-place-to-put-it is such a Holy Grail. (answering own question: she advances the plotline). Still, seeing the idiot track her down, knock on the door holding a bouquet, he looked like an idiot and I wouldn’t have blamed the beat up looking fiance if he kicked Jason’s butt down the road.

In fact, this was an entirely too gruesome episode and I’m sorry I watched, but I have to keep up. If there’s dogfighting next week, I may have to tape it and just go right through those scenes.

Even worse is that they don’t wipe off their faces after they’re done eating. How is that different from a human getting up from the dinner table with food all over their face?

Yes, the sloppy eating bugs me, too. Especially the giant pools of blood left “unclaimed” around so many of their victims. One of the vampire tropes that has always made sense to me is that you can tell a vampire victim because the body has been completely drained of all blood, i.e. the vampires won’t waste a drop. Except that these vampires apparently don’t give a shit about how much blood they are wasting, considering how much of it gets all over their faces, hair, clothing, surrounding furniture, etc. Yeah, yeah, they don’t have to worry so much about wastage in this universe with TruBlood so handy and all. But it still bugs me.

I think he will be coming back. After all, there was a perfectly good axe on the same wall as the mace and it didn’t get ued. Big mistake in my book. Bash the head, OK. Sever the head, way better. Sever the head and bring it out into full sunlight? Even better yet.

It particularly annoys me because they reference this issue in the first season, right? Bill says a vampire didn’t do a murder because a vampire wouldn’t have left any blood. But since then, they seem to have changed their minds. It does make sense as a storytelling trope though - vampire stories have had a strong sexual element since Stoker, with penetration by teeth as a stand-in. Looking at it that way, you can’t have a feeding scene without a “money shot” - dripping, pooling blood.

Talked with my resident dungeon master and he offered his opinion that werepanthers were no big deal, but that weretigers were the shit!

And based on my earlier mention of water and tears, he said he had wondered whether she was a Lorelei.

Nice to have such a useful resource in my home. Good to know all those tuition payments are going to good use! 😉

Well, Bill would have said anything to defend vampires. He probably thought it was the thing to say to a cop without glamoring him in front of Sookie.

The vampires feeding ritual seems highly sexual so I’m not surprised all of that blood goes to waste. It would be hard to stay calm and collected while in the act. Plus, there’s no need to drain every last drop. They Vamps are out in the open, accepted by society, have easily accessible artificial blood, humans volunteering to feed them and the ability to glamor others.

When the king, Bill, and Bill’s maker fed on the dancer in the limo - was it your impression she survived and they glamored her?

I assumed she did, but I hadn’t really thought about it. I guess there’s really no way they let her live, even if she was glamored, she would still have multiple bite marks for quite some time. So, they probably did kill her since she would have figured it out post-glam.
You messed up the quoting again Dinsdale. 🙂

He’s saying they don’t have to make sure each and every drop is used, because they have easy supplies of it elsewhere.

Er uh, maybe what I said you were saying wasn’t what you were saying after all.

I thought it was pretty clear they simply murdered her, no glamoring or nothin.
