To be clear, I enjoy the series quite a bit. I haven’t read the books. But the whole witch thing of being on her knees and beseeching to be used by a ghost/witch/whatever…just…made me want to shout out loud “Get off your knees, woman! Why the hell are you debasing yourself like that?” :smack: Begging dead people for power is stupid. If they had any power, they’d use it, ffs. Ok, ok, the ability to make Monty Python jokes with parrots and take away a vamp’s memories could be useful, if controlled. But it all seems so random. And dumb! I hope they get smarter with it than that. Or at least really, really interesting!

Jason getting raped by Crystal while the other girls are waiting their turn is pretty twisted.
I thought Deb was dead, but I guess I didn’t remember that scene correctly from last season.
The Hoyt/Jessica storyline has been pretty boring so far. Their shouty arguments were getting really annoying, actually. But Jessica forcibly glamoring Hoyt was interesting, so hopefully thev’ve got some better stuff coming.

Yeah; that moment when he realizes what she’s trying and says “Oh hell no” and tries to get away was great. That doll, though…WTF. It was in the house to start with, apparantly has been making repeat appearances despite all attempts to destroy it…why do they keep throwing/giving it away? Why don’t they just BURN the m’f’ing thing. It’s creepy. I have NO idea why even Arlene thinks it’s a good present.

That doll is going to, I dunno, do something, come alive, become possessed. Something. I didn’t like this episode at all, except maybe the part where Hoyt’s mom orders yet another doll, from QVC or HSN.

Kind of a waste of an episode although some highlights for me:

[li]Eric calling Sookie “Snookie”![/li][li]Bill calling Jessica “Vamp Puppy”[/li][li]Sookie telling Eric he killed her fairy godmother, although the fairy turned into something so trollish and gross that I thought it was a witch.[/li][/ul]
Next week looks promising, although Nan looks pissed enough at Bill to hint that his reign may be the shortest in the history of vampire government. I kind of like King Bill, so it would be a pity.
p.s. Eric being so polite tonight was pretty funny too.

Why do they bother executing that vamp that was filmed feeding on a human? They don’t have to keep their existence a secret anymore.

Yhe whole idea after TrueBlood was commercially available was that the vampires could live in the open, because they were no longer a threat to people. But if you have vampires like him attacking people, it makes it hard for the rest of the vampires.

Two thumbs waaaaaaay down on this episode. So many plot holes and people doing absolutely idiotic things. I don’t like the whole witch thing, and I agree that the doll story line is just distracting. The whole thing seemed choppy, since the writers are jumping all over the place with too many story lines.

People are already, rightfully so, prejudiced against them. YouTube videos won’t make any difference.

Most idiotic is Sookie not telling Tara and Lafayette that they don’t need to worry about Eric right now and why. And why are they worrying about him anyway? Because they were in the room when the witch zapped him?
I guess the writers need to give those characters something to do, but that’s the main problem with this show – too damn many characters so too many story lines need to be contrived, and it does feel contrived.
I did like the dark stuff – Jessica glamoring Hoyt was sad, and Jason being gang raped was just as sick as if it had been happening to a woman.
ETA: The YouTube video – Bill had to see from the video that the “victim” was willing. Killing the guy accomplished nothing.

Agreed. And for me the second funniest was Andy, trying to resist the temptation to give in to his V addiction: “God grant me the serenity to… oh screw it.” (pulls out vial of blood).

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who hated this episode. However, I didn’t like the previous two either. All of the main characters (except Sookie), are doing things that are completely out of character.
I don’t mind the witch plot because I’m hoping it picks up, when Marnie gets possessed by the lady in the potato sack dress. And I like the idea of a creepy doll, but now they’ve ruined it by giving it to the possibly evil baby.

It’s about time for Sookie, at least, to sit someone like Bill or Eric down and demand a list of all the different types of supernaturals out there instead of reacting in amazement as each new group is revealed.
And notice that the only ones who have actually gone public, officially, are the vampires. And yet the cat is out of the bag, pardon the pun, on the other sups.
