Huh. Well, I’m glad the body in the car wasn’t who it was in the book, and that it looks like they’re doing away with the utterly, utterly stupid sex club plot line. At the same time, I don’t know that I like where they’re going with Eric. I like the Eric in the books. He’s a dick, but so utterly up-front about it that it’s kind of charming. Also, I’m a bit disappointed that it looks like we won’t get to see him in the orgy outfit. That would almost make the stupid sex club storyline worthwhile. ETA that I really hope we don’t have to look at this much of Anna Paquin’s tits all season. ---

I’ve never read any of the books so I’m coming into this with a clean slate. My favorite character so far is Lafayette. I really hope he isn’t killed off or worse, vamped, but judging from the previews it looks like it might head that way. ETA: And I hope they add more of Anna’s tits this season. Hell, I hope they add more tits this season, if that’s even possible. ---

Not a bad start- I like the addition of the “baby vamp” Jessica and laughed when Bill mentioned that 2/3rd of Vampires don’t survive the first year. Funny about tits- my partner rolled his eyes when I told him True Blood will be starting back up tonight and I told him “at least you’ll see some naked boobies!” But alas…he missed both shots LOL. ---

Geez, I’d forgotten that so much happened in the first season. They told a lot of story, didn’t they? I feel bad for William Sanderson and Chris Bauer, and from the way they delivered their lines, I think they feel bad too. I guess Bon Temps needs cops (and the actors need paychecks), but their talent is wasted here. So – what is Mary Anne? Is she a lamia? Did we figure this out last season? I forget. ---

I thought the episode was dreadful. Bad writing and bad acting, particularly the cops, as AuntiePam says. Tara was the only one worth watching. Jason was boring when he was drugged out and screwing all the time; a clean-cut religious Jason (even with a crazy religion) is going to be unwatchable. I would like to know what happens to Lafayette, but I’m not interested in Mary Anne and I think the thing with Bill’s new vampire girl is silly, so I guess that’s my last True Blood episode. ---

I watched the show the first season, but I think I’m gonna pass on the second. I read all the books except the most recent one. The books were a fun read. The show, ehh, I guess it just hurts my head how much it is like the books but then how much is different at the same time. I miss the humor. ---

Well I loved the episode and love the show. I’ve never read the books, though - I wonder if that has something to do with it? I guess Bill is going to be mad when he finds out the Eric is killing humans in his neck (heh) of the woods? Wasn’t that some arrangement they had with one another? The only thing that I find rather silly is how the police don’t believe Tara’s story. Uh, you’ve had a serial killer, a local woman can read minds, there’s vampires running all over the place, and a local woman was found with her heart ripped out - and you doubt that she was a Voodoo Priestess? Or that there was a naked woman with a pig around? I’d be willing to accept lots of stuff if I lived in that world. ---

How much time passed during this episode? Had to be at least a full day, maybe two. We saw Bill put Jessica to bed twice, didn’t we? Wasn’t that a strange shot of the rotating thing in the kitchen at Merlotte’s (that the kitchen orders were clipped to), obviously meant to remind you of the rotating thing that Lafayette was chained to in Eric’s basement? When Jason and Hoyt were talking about missing somebody, I assumed at first that they were talking about Lafayette. ---

In the last episode last season, Tara and Sam were talking about him being gone, and she said he had up and disappeared previously. Went to a party one night and wound up go-go dancing in Florida for several months, I believe she said. I’d guess they just assume he’s wandered off and will show up eventually. ---

I’m still intrigued. And two humorous moments got me laughing: Marianne: “Nobody needed towels!” and Eric appearing mid-highlight to foil the escape plot Come to think of it, those are both pretty artful moments, because they are funny, but at the same time accentuate how awful and inhuman the respective people are. ---
