Wyatt Earp does not equal Rooster Cogburn – far to mannered and citified (with the notable exception of the three week vendetta ride).
Kinda tells you something that Wayne based all of his characters on a single person, doesn’t it? One of the things I enjoyed about the movie was how distinctive Cogburn was: he and LaBoeuf were both western lawmen, but they were incredibly different.
So if Jeff Bridges knows that two people may share a profession but have different personalities, then I agree with you that he knows better than John Wayne.
Look, a bounty hunter has to have some charm if he’s going to track down fugitives. Who’s going to give information to an asshole?
