Kirk is already being called a martyr by several [MAGA conservative Christians](https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/11/us/charlie-kirk-martyr-conservative-christians.html?unlocked_article_code=1.lE8.Dcp5.s5MR6Z27H9JL&smid=url-share) with comparisons to MLK and Jesus. (gift link). Many of them feel it is emblematic of how their faith is under attack by liberals. Jesse Watters on FOX News is one of several MAGA commentators calling for vengeance. > We’re sick, we’re sad, we’re angry, and we’re resolute, and we’re going to avenge Charlie’s death in the way Charlie would want it to be avenged. Time will tell how serious the freakout on the right will be but I suspect it will get uglier before it is all over.
