I am actually looking forward to that rally. I think a lot of people will attend or watch the huge rally, feel that they did their part in mourning then go back to their lives. Attention spans seem to be very short these days. It may be a good thing to have one huge memorial. ---

For all his lifetime of self promotion, Trump is really bad at optics. At his grand military parade he imagined himself like Stalin at Red Square while what we saw looked like a modest tailgate booth at a ball game. So, we can look forward to a shabby Trump whine while he imagines Nuremburg and Riefenstahl. I understand it will be livestreamed on You Tube at 2:00 ET. ---

[Lynden school board tables proposal to create ‘Charlie Kirk Day’](https://www.king5.com/article/news/local/lynden-school-board-proposal-charlie-kirk-day/281-ad849c28-80d2-41a7-a4c0-1f2afacd6c56) Lynden, WA is a conservative Dutch-heritage community 10 miles east of where I live. Donald Trump had a campaign rally there before his first term. One of my wife’s patients who lives there, was heaping praise on Charlie Kirk. So it’s no surprise that the school board would want to establish a Charlie Kirk Day. What _is_ surprising is that the proposal was tabled in a 3-2 vote. ---

The bitter part of me hopes that the American public treats this rally the way they treated us in Tucson when we had a rally after our mass shooting (in which 8 people died, and many were wounded, including Gabby Giffords) – like shit. Because that’s how they treated us. Like shit. For mourning. The kinder and the more practical parts of me don’t want that, because even if the dude was a piece of shit, people should be able to mourn, and also because these are the sort of people who will snowflake their way into killing us all if they don’t feel respected. ---

Who? Charlie Kirk Was that one of the children shot at school in (insert the last dozen murder locations)?
