In the case of Larry Bushart (last link above) they pretended to believe that his reference to a school shooting was a threat to commit a school shooting.
I’m pleased to see these settlements. This Nazoid tactic needs to be stomped out quick, before it’s normalized.
Reading the article, the sheriff alleged that one of his posts was threatening a local school, which happened to have the same name as a school in Iowa (and where a school shooting had happened previously).
Thanks, yooz. 800 grand. I wish the reporting didn’t say that the authorities would pay that. Why not state the obvious, that Tennessee taxpayers will pay it.
They should fire the sheriff and investigator who had Bushart arrested under trumped up charges.
And maybe Bushart could launch civil suits against them. Make the bastards pay. Send a message to any other bastards considering acts like this.
Meanwhile, the Republican “transgenders under every bed” panic is leading to them eating their own, including Erika Kirk.
