Yeah…it would seem to me Assassin-101 is toss the weapon after the shot and leave the area ASAP. Presumably the second class is about making sure the weapon can’t be traced to you before it is brought the the shooting place (use gloves when handling it/wipe it down after and so on).

I’m reading in a few places that they do have his name now, but haven’t released it or put out a warrant yet (presumably because a warrant would make the name public record).
A warrant can be issued in secret (not public knowledge). Once the warrant is executed (they use it to arrest the person) then it becomes public. But so what at that point?

If he had been caught cheating on his wife, they’d have him ID’d by now, I’m sure of it.
Kash almost immediately tweeted that a suspect was in custody. 6 minutes later, the local authorities stated the suspect had been released. It took Kash another 90 minutes to acknowledge that fact.
Why pics of one person in a hallway? Is that inside the building he was on? Why would they think he’s the shooter in the first place? Maybe it’s a girl? A student at UVU or not?

Thank you for the answers, but unless this person was coming in from a door that led to the roof, I can’t see any connection to “that’s the shooter.” I’ve read reports the shooter jumped from the roof then just bled into the crowd of spectators. So some young looking teen doesn’t seem to be a “person of interest” to me. Unless they saw something or knew something. What a mess!
That’s been my assumption. How else would the guy have been able to access the roof? I’m assuming the building is more than one story, and that a person attempting to scale the building would have certainly attracted attention
The governor of my state (who I sort of work for indirectly), I am pleased to say, did in fact direct flags to be at half mast, but said that it was also to remember the victims of the 9/11 attack. So, while he did technically comply with the request, he also stole the moment a bit from Kirk’s martyrdom, and in a way that even the right can’t really complain too much about. The guy is more clever than I could be.
