Reddit, at least. I’ve seen upteen posts about various Trump firings over the last few weeks. The implication being that key safety positions that could have prevented this accident are now vacant. It’s nonsense, of course. But the terrible media literacy that has been the hallmark of the right for so long started creeping into more liberal spaces 8 years ago and shows no signs of slowing down. Probably because it’s effective, but it’s still exhausting. I’m sure there are tons of low information anti-Trumpers who saw one of those posts and believes Trump bears at least some responsibility. There’s even MORE low information MAGAs who totally belive Trump that this is all DEIs fault, but that doesn’t make me feel any better about anything. ---

Trump also mentioned Obama so presumably (in Trump’s mind) it was someone who is not suitable to be an ATC that was employed under Obama and moved to Reagan National under Biden. Of course if the ATC was white son of a Millionaire who went to an Ivy league University it will never come out. Trump wants to cut Federal spending things like the FAA because rather than spend weeks of time and millions of $ finding out what really happened it is cheaper and better to declare it is the fault of someone Trump doesn’t like within hours. ---
