Story [here](https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/17/us/autopen-pardons-biden-trump.html?unlocked_article_code=1.404.zLA0.rMyOYJODFvZO&smid=url-share) for those who haven’t read it.

Of course this is total nonsense as there is no case law to support the idea DJT or any President can undo a predecessor’s pardons. Maybe if it could be shown the pardons were sold or something equally shady but I don’t know of that ever happening.

The autopen BS has no relevance either.

But to what degree could DJT and DOJ screw with people like Hunter and Liz Cheney? Would they have to cooperate with investigators or could they just tell them to pound sand? Same for any congressional committee that tries to subpoena anyone who got a pardon from Biden. Would they have to show up and give testimony?

As absurd as it seems I expect we will find out fairly soon.

It’s being discussed here:

> [@When does the President of the U.S. have the legal right to invalidate a previous President's pardon(s)?](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/when-does-the-president-of-the-u-s-have-the-legal-right-to-invalidate-a-previous-presidents-pardon-s/1015737):
