We visited New York City in 1984, shortly after Trump Tower opened. We were curious about its shops and restaurants, some of which were on the second floor of the atrium. We headed to the escalator, where a security guard made us pause, looking at us carefully, before he let us pass. We didn’t know if he was considering whether we we wealthy enough (we weren’t), or if we were worthy of the honor of riding such a special escalator. We went up, looked around, and went right back down.
It’ll jam halfway up, and it’ll all be Obama’s/Biden’s fault.
