My prediction. Trump will end up being the best thing to ever happen to the Democratic party. He has divided the Republican party. He is jeopardizing Republican control of the HR. He has helped elect one of the most unpopular Democrats ever. Trump was a disaster to the Republican party. Those poor souls, scrambling to decide how far to distance themselves from Trump. Shall I walk away or run? That’s what’s on every one of their minds. This needs to be a movie. A 2 hour movie. (SNL will be totally awesome this Saturday) ---

This is just one more example of: 1. Trump cannot leave any slight unchallenged. He MUST get in the last word, and he MUST win. He’s the best at everything and anyone who doubts him is WRONG!!! WRONG!!! WRONG!!! LOSER!!! 2. Trump does not now, nor has he ever, given a rat’s ass about the Republican Party. Trump cares about one thing and one thing only: Trump. It boggles my mind that some Republicans might be just now discovering this. It’s like the “locker room talk” tape. Were people really surprised? Trump’s war is going well. Looking at 538, Trump has turned from Bright red to Orange/Red (no pun intended) MT, SD, KS, MO, IN, TX, GA. You know your war is going well when you’re losing voters in solid Red states. 😉 ---

This is good news for the GOP. Disassociating themselves from this disaster comes too late, but at least now rational Republicans can vote for candidates that are not popular amid the batshit brigade. It’s important because as I’ve said elsewhere - Donald isn’t going away on November 9th. He’ll still be giving rallies because he enjoys it. He’ll still be a problem for mid-term elections. He’ll still be raking in the dough from renting his properties to his campaign org. He’ll still be tweeting furiously at the disloyal Republicans. And Republicans will still be facing the anger from Trump’s fans if they try to distance themselves. I’m convinced that Donald is the albatross around the neck of the Republican party. ---

Perhaps in the long run this is best for the GOP. For years they have been addicted to the low-educated, non-Christian-hating, government-hating, homophobic, science-rejecting, gun-loving, xenophobic, racist segment of their base and have been forced to adopt absurd policies in order to appease them. In return, this base has slavishly voted for every tax-cutting Social Security-hating warmongering politician who puts an R after his name. This demonic bargain may be over as the inmates have taken over the asylum. Whether the corporate shills can exist without the lunatics remains to be seen, but hopefully sane Republicans in the mold of Ford and Dole can throw the crazies out. ---
