Trump recently said he didn’t consider Vance to be his successor. If Trump has any mental faculties left hearing Vance say he’s ready is really going to chap his hide. Let’s hope for Trump’s sake his handlers keep this news from him.

And how does Vance feel about that? If I was him, I’d be seething: “What? He selected me for VP, now he thinks I can’t succeed him? What the hell …?”

Trump hasn’t been seen in at least a couple of days, has no events scheduled for the next few, Vance talked about being ready to step in to the presidency, there are completely unsubstantiated tweets reporting seeing a high speed secret service motorcade driving by, and the Pentagon is ordering a lot of pizza. It’s entirely possible he had a stroke or a heart attack and may be dead.

I wish. Isn’t it more likely that’s he’s taking a vacation through the Labor Day weekend? I know, I know, his whole life has been a pre-paid vacation, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t feel entitled to it.

Since when has a Trump vacation had him in seclusion for more than 24 hours? He has to be the bride at every wedding, and the corpse at every funeral. If he hasn’t been seen bloviating on camera for several days, that’s news.

That’s my guess. Something’s up, something risky that has him on bed rest, but not eternal bed rest.
My top guess is a minor medical procedure requiring anaesthesia and a few days of recovery, taking advantage of the bank holiday. If that’s true, we’ll see him back Tuesday.
Second-top guess, he’s transitioned into a long-term condition where he can’t do that much, and needs to rest a lot. If that’s true, 3-day weekends and prolonged holiday breaks will be the norm.
In either way, I’m stocking up on celebratory fireworks just in case.

I bet he has some condition that looks unattractive and that’s hard to hide. He is very vain. And sadly, most such conditions are not especially fatal.

So interestingly, the idea that Trump is dying is all over my social media this morning, based on social media alone you’d think he was on his deathbed. But there is absolutely nothing to indicate he’s having some sort of health crisis in any actual news pages. Guardian, CNN, BBC, MSNBC all have nothing even mentioning Trumps health.
