Trump yesterday talking about 30 special operation veterans with traumatic brain injuries underwent ibogaine treatment and supposedly experienced 80% to 90% reduction in symptoms. “Can I have some, please?” Couldn’t hurt. \*noting my previous speculation that he’s been getting ibogaine infusions through a vein in his left hand, so maybe it’s not working all that well. ---

My brother and I didn’t touch it for a while since it came from the pharmacy with a label on it like medicine would have, but eventually realized what it was and would take sips. Mom was pissed when she went to get some and there was little left. Like alcohol a few years later. ---

True; the kola nut was added to “coca wine” in the first formulation. Coca wine was cocaine mixed with wine. It was the addition of the kola nut that set it apart from other coca wines of the time, which is why I mentioned it specifically, as the cocaine was not novel. The wine was left out to get around alcohol prohibitions at the time (but not cocaine, as it didn’t have the reputation then that it does now), and it was made into a soft drink. And of course they eventually dropped the cocaine as well. ---
