While he was having his fit in the War Room, it is reported (although not by the most reputable source) that he reached for the codes. Which codes, you ask? I always wondered why any US president would have access to nuclear codes. Maybe it’s a “chain of responsibility” thing, but there was always speculation that Reagan would accidentally trigger them in his dotage.
