You don’t have to turn to the obituary pages. Like the joke goes: A guy walks up to the news stand, picks up a newspaper, and sets it back down. The confused seller asks if he’s looking for something. The buyer says he’s just checking for an obituary. The seller says, “You didn’t even open it up.” The buyer says, “Oh, this obituary will be on the front page.” I’m hoping for church bells to be ringing out the good news. ---

The thing is, if his face on the coin was in profile, you could actually probably make it look decent and noble and presidential, but he has the worst taste imaginable, so of course it’s of him in a suit glowering directly at the person holding the coin. ---

Pedant moment: People used to bite coins to see if they were real gold (biting would leave a slight indentation) as opposed to a counterfeit. Trump’s dollar is largely copper with a brass coating, so biting it would be pointless as well as potentially nausea-inducing. It’s a mystery, given Donald’s fascination with gold, that he didn’t demand the coin be at least gold-plated. It’s ftting though that it’s a phony, like the turd it’s modeled after. ---

Instead I’d bet that whatever treatment he’d been using to make his (likely) yellowed-white hair look Golden Blond, has made his scalp so damaged and ripped up that infection is a daily threat. In June we saw photos of a big patch of irritated skin near his collar. I bet there’s more of that under what’s left of his hair. So someone sold him on the idea that the darker rinse would help his scalp to heal (I would bet). This guy ADORES blondness and Gold, and wouldn’t go brown unless basically forced to do so (by health issues). ---

I don’t know, according to my hairdresser husband, all hair colors are about equally damaging to the scalp. If someone sold him on something that doesn’t end up working, they’re going to have to rely on his short attention span to get away with it, and when it’s about his image and appearance, that may not work out for them. ---

That all makes sense. I just can’t imagine him abandoning his attraction to blondness, unless it’s because he believes it will help control pain he’s feeling in the scalp area. (Maybe it’s not a dye at all but an “ointment” that happens to darken.) I mean, it’s not as though appearing with brownish hair could be expected to have people dropping to their knees in awe at the stunning manliness (or whatever) that brown hair conveys… ---
