In the first place, you seem to have tizzied yourself into confusion between what NFL owners are **actually** doing and what Kalafer (and Trump) have **advocated** that they should do. AFAIK, NFL owners are not in fact attempting to tell their players whether they may or may not take a knee in protest during the anthem. In the second place, if the owners **did** impose the limitations that you describe, **it would be stupid to describe such limitations as “direction on how to best exercise freedom of speech”**. The point is not whether it’s constitutional to limit one’s employees’ freedom of speech in certain ways: sure it is. The point is that it’s stupid (and disingenuous) to pretend that limiting freedom of speech is nothing more than “directing how to best exercise freedom of speech”. ---

Did he have plane tickets for a plane to LA after the game was over? Reservations? And then he was so shocked at the unpatriotic goings-on, he stormed out and…got new plane tickets?
