Six months of Trump and Hillary attack ads . . . ya got any of that tequila and bongwater left?

You could not possibly pay me enough to live in Ohio.

Ever.

But particularly for the next six months.

Smartest thing I ever did was move from Ohio to safe blue states.

I buy the tequila, the other is homebrew. A sacrifice made for quality control.

Apparently Trump is going to start getting intelligence briefings as presumptive nominee. The idea being to get the next president up to speed.

I assume no really secret stuff gets shared until at least after the general election - but can you imagine Trump not blurting something out to show how smart he is?

Maybe they will spoon-feed him false intelligence for him to blurt out, thereby confounding the Enemy.

It’s classified, so it’s all secret. But yeah, I HOPE he blurts out something that won’t get anyone directly hurt. That buffoon is what a significant amount of Americans feel should lead our nation, the more buffoonery now the less likely we’ll have to deal with the man’s tiny finger on the button.

What do you guys think is Paul Ryan’s play in not backing Trump? Covering his ass from a surely doomed presidential campaign or the voice piece of the Old Guard pressuring Trump for some key concession or compliance.

He’s proven very fond of avoiding answering, obscuring his intentions and concealing sensitive information that could be used by our enemies, so we can only hope that he would continue this when he has real answers, formulated plans and actual sensitive information that could be used by our actual enemies.

Good stuff. That’s a bookmark, then.

I’ll just mention that despite the Mar. 22 dateline, it’s clearly been updated sometime after Apr. 20, as it references the recent _National Enquirer_ story concerning Ted Cruz’ father.

And the thing that really bugs me is that his supporters dint see anything wrong with that. He’s “tough” and “tells it like it is” or something, and it doesn’t matter how many lies he gets caught in, or implies that Obama is somehow sympathetic to
terrorists, or if he pats himself on the back while they are still trying to figure out the scope of the tragedy. As far as i can tell, it only makes his supporters admire him more.

Apologies for this late reply to your post, **BigT**. I would’ve responded sooner but, given its content, I thought it best to wait until I had literally nothing better to do in the world.

There’s a lot of bullshit that needs unpacking here. If it’s al the same to you, I’m going to tackle your “points” in reverse order. Let’s start with this:

> [@BigT](#):
>
> You have become a conservative…

To be clear, you’re defining ‘Conservative’ as _“Someone who makes fun of wimpy overgrown children who get squicked out at the sight of the word ‘Trump’”._ The necessary corollary, therefore, is that a ‘Liberal’, in your eyes, is someone who supports this namby-pamby ‘woe-is-me’ bullshit. In that case, yes. I’m a Conservative and proud of it.

If, however, you define ‘Liberal’ as someone who is pro-choice, pro marriage equality, pro universal healthcare, in favour of progressive taxation, anti-Iraq war, pro reasonable gun legislation, anti-TTIP, pro-drug legalisation, or any of the other things _normal_ people associate with Liberalism, then I’m a liberal. Either that or I’m just the worst conservative ever. I voted for Jeremy Corbyn, for fuck’s sake, and he makes Bernie Sanders look like Mussolini.

> [@BigT](#):
>
> …, trying to preserve what you think liberal means, when the whole point is that it marches on. And it already has moved past where you are.

Okay, two points. Firstly, I would happily bet everything I own that most liberals probably find these snivelling milquetoasts are just as pathetic as I do. Secondly, believe it or not, not _all_ movement is positive. It is actually possible to move _backwards_, and these kids have - in the name of _liberalism_ no less - moved so far backwards that they’ve ended up in some weird authoritarian no-man’s-land where it’s perfectly acceptable to burst into tears at the sight of the word ‘Trump’ and barricade a University Dean’s office to demand the censure of the person who wrote it because _feeeeeelings_. Well fuck that. And fuck them.

> [@BigT](#):
>
> Wanting things to go back the way they were in the past is the literal definition of conservatism.

So let’s say Trump wins. You would, I presume, vote for the Democratic candidate in 2020. In doing so, you would, by your own definition, have become a conservative. After all, you would be “wanting things to go back the way they were in the past”. Dispute that conclusion all you like, but I _am_ using _your_ definition. Perhaps it’s worth considering the possibility that your definition is stupid?

> [@BigT](#):
>
> It’s not complicated, as I said. These kids are fighting against bigotry.

These kids _aren’t_ fighting against bigotry. ‘TRUMP 2016’ is _not_ bigotry. Protocols of the Elders of Zion, _that’s_ bigotry; gay bashing, Strange Fruit, apartheid, the Ku-Klux-Klan, _that’s_ bigotry. ‘Trump 2016’ is a campaign slogan, and a rather boring one at that. Like it or not, Donald Trump is, by popular decree, the presumptive nominee of the biggest political party in America, and come November about 60 million people are going to vote for him. Are you saying they’re _all_ bigots? Because that’s kinda…well, _bigoted_.

> [@BigT](#):
>
> They may overreact, but they are doing what’s right.

No. They’re not. They’re posturing for attention.

Hey, I’ve just decided that the T in ‘BigT’ probably stands for ‘Trump’. I hereby demand you cease posting immediately, lest you make me cry. This may be an over-reaction, but _damn it_ I’m doing what’s right!

> [@BigT](#):
>
> If being associated with them makes you look bad in the eyes of the people you hang out with, then you hang out with some shitty people.

No, I just hang out with people who _aren’t_ sanctimonious, censorious, authoritarians. They would, therefore, probably take a dim view of my being associated with these sanctimonious, censorious, authoritarian students, and quite rightly.

> [@BigT](#):
>
> And I did explain Derleth’s post in my first paragraph. I didn’t think I had to specifically spell out that Cameron is Conservative politician who makes the same anti-PC bullshit arguments you make.

I’m making two arguments here, and only two:

1. Anyone who thinks it’s appropriate to storm their university dean’s office and demand satisfaction because they saw ‘TRUMP 2016’ scrawled in chalk on a sidewalk is a pathetic loser, totally unequipped for the real world, who needs to toughen the fuck up for their own good.

2. Because these whiny little bitches call themselves liberals, and because their hilarious antics get so much attention in the press and on social media (and, by attention, I mean the _’OMFG Get a load of these fucking pussies!!!’_ kind of attention), liberals like me, who aren’t cry-babies, end up getting unjustly tarred with the same brush.

This has absolutely nothing to do with David Cameron. Like, literally nothing at all. Besides, you don’t know the extent to which Cameron is anti political correctness. He’s not slinging round words like nigger and faggot in Parliament, so he can’t be _completely_ anti PC. And you don’t know the extent to which _I’m_ anti PC either. All you know, is that I draw the line at cry-bullies attention whoring over a bit of fucking chalk. I’d imagine David Cameron would find it equally ridiculous. That doesn’t mean we have anything else in common. And if, to be considered PC, one must necessarily be sympathetic to the petulant bleatings of these blubbering little brats then I’d imagine virtually _no-one_ would qualify as PC.

> [@BigT](#):
>
> You were the one making “might makes right” arguments.

I haven’t made a single “might makes right” argument. If you disagree, by all means quote me so I can point out how you’re wrong in more detail.

> [@BigT](#):
>
> That’s why Derleth made those arguments back at you. You want to call these kids weak, he points out that they are actually much stronger than you.

Actually, given all the subsequent histrionics, I like to think the _real_ hero here is the guy who dared to express his support for Trump in such an obviously hostile environment. As for those kids being strong? They protested the university dean on the grounds that they were _traumatised_ by a _word_. They are not, by any reasonable definition, strong.

> [@BigT](#):
>
> Your solution to the “problem” was to have the dean flex his muscle. A liberal who is actually for having authorities strong arm protesters rather than talk with them? Really?

What, you think he’s morally obligated to have a fucking summit meeting with every little squirt holding a placard? Is he their dean or their therapist? I’m not saying these kids don’t need some kind of therapy because they _clearly_ do, but does he have to be the one to dish it out? A complaint must surely rise to a certain standard of severity to be worth a dean’s attention. If a complaint fails to meet that standard he’s well within his rights to tell them to stop being so bloody neurotic and get out of his office.

> [@BigT](#):
>
> I am, in fact, a couple years younger than you. But the difference is small enough that I know what liberalism was like when you were in college. And it was definitely pro-PC, not this anti-PC garbage you are spewing all over this thread.

Really? I don’t remember any students having conniption fits over any ‘BUSH 2004’ signs.

> [@BigT](#):
>
> The only thing that makes you look bad is you. You’re making blatantly anti-liberal arguments, while whining about how liberal is being redefined.

If you’d ever seen me dance you’d know there’s no shortage of things which make me look bad. One thing which absolutely does _not_ make me look bad, however, is the fact that _you_ have a low opinion of me. Because you’re a sanctimonious arse, and your opinion is about as welcome as a fart in a spaceship and nowhere near as easy to take.

Good day, sir! Good _day!_

_flounces off into the sunset_
