Based upon the sampling of British people I know (who are, admittedly, largely expats or have come to the US to work in order to get away from Britain) they regard the American media obsession with the British royal family as some kind of odd behavioral quirk bordering on perversion. But it would give John Oliver a two-fer, being able to mock both [Donald Trump](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkpJgVdm2Kk) and [Elizabeth II](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ut3It7YQ2nU) in the same segment.
