With the government shutdown, I guess they’ve had to furlough some of the White House kitchen staff. So when the Clemson football team stopped by today, Trump served McDonalds, Burger King and Wendy’s. I would have loved seeing the BK, Wendy’s, and McDonald’s employees faces when 200 burgers were ordered to go. 😉 I guess the WH staff split up and went to several franchises to get enough burgers quickly. One BK, Wendy’s, and McDonald’s could never cook them fast enough to fill a WH order. ---

If he arranged this himself, it’s pretty much the most competent thing he’s ever done. It’s more of a wacky sitcom episode (the buffoonish president has to arrange his own dinner with no staff!) than anything else. But I don’t believe for a second that he paid for the food. ---

Have you ever picked up food at McDonalds, and then brought it home to eat? If so, then you know how awful that stuff is when it has time to rest. Pizzas would have been a better choice. (If those were the only choices. He could have had the damn thing catered like a wedding party.) ---

Even if the team swooped in immediately to eat after the picture with Trump and the food was taken, it would have all been tepid at best. And there’s no reason to assume the food was free absent anyone saying so, nor that “hot trucks” were involved (do fast food restaurants typically have such things on hand?). ---

Of all the stupidity to come out of this administration, this may be the most ridiculous. Look at the grin on Trump’s face; he seems to think he’s actually accomplished something. Are there any state dinners coming up; will we be treated to official White House photos of Xi Jinping eating Chinese takeout right out of the box? ---

My first thought was “What, you couldn’t at least get a caterer with some foil trays of chicken, pasta and beef?” As **Lord Feldon** said, it sounds more like a sitcom episode.
