Now a Phoenix city councilman want the RNC to [move the convention](https://ktar.com/story/3190828/phoenix-city-councilman-wants-to-bring-republican-convention-to-valley/) here. The office is non-partisan but I can guess which party he is registered in. I don’t go to downtown Phoenix much. Come August, I have even less reason to. ---

A “dry heat” works only up to 90 or 100 depending on what your personal whine point is. As I say to someone who pulls that old chestnut out, “Ask the next salmon you see whether he’d be poached or broiled.” He’ll answer he winds up on the plate either way. People who have not been in Phoenix during the summer have no real concept how bad it is. [WorldCon 36](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/36th_World_Science_Fiction_Convention) was held in Phoenix at the end of August, 1978 and by the second day of the convention, the concrete plaza between the convention center and the convention hotel had been named _The Anvil of God._ ---

Perhaps the Dems could be proactive FOR ONCE, and cancel their worthless convention, as a major threat to public health. This might shame/embarrass the gop (no caps here on purpose) into cancelling theirs, depriving trump (no undeserved caps here, either) of a measure of life-giving adulation. We, the public, would have to survive without the flood of doo-doo. Win-win-win! Dan ---
