Red states are fighting to get this now . I would think Florida gets it , Texas or Georgia might too. ---

How does this work if the state government wants the convention but the local government says “no thanks?” ---

Miami probably would OK it. Lots of conservatives there. Also St. Pete has a lot of retirees and they won’t mind it. ---

Retirees who, due to being older, are more vulnerable to COVID-19. I suspect that quite a few of them would be less than happy about a mass gathering in their backyard. My suspicion is that it’ll wind up in Vegas. ---

Unfortunately, I would guess for any of the candidate locations there are enough unemployed workers who would be willing to take the risk of staffing a Convention, that labor would not be a factor in whether to host or not. ---

Vegas pretty popular with retirees but not like Florida AKA God’s waiting room. 2 Florida bumper stickers : We don’t care how you did it up north. When I get old , I will move up north and drive real slow. ---

Given the pandemic backdrop I’d recommend Las Vegas, NV and Boulder, CO as the locations for the respective party conventions. ---

Trump is creating an electoral map problem for himself. If I were in his camp, I’d probably be choosing between Florida and Georgia - maybe somewhere in the Jacksonville area. If you’re Trump, you want to keep those two states. But if you have your convention in JAX, then you campaign like hell in OH, PA, WI, NC, and AZ. Michigan is probably gone at this point. ---
