In the long tradition of pointless Doper nitpicking, I must point out that Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the chapel door\* in Wittenburg on Oct 31st, 1517 by the reckoning of the Julian Calendar. The exact 500th year anniversary of that date will be Nov 10th, 2017 assuming I haven’t mucked up the conversion. Nitpicking your nitpick: it’d actually be the 13th. Luther didn’t initially want the public to read it. He saw the problem as a theological issue that should be addressed within the religious hierarchy and which didn’t involve laymen. He figured that once he pointed out what he saw as obvious truths, the Church would correct the errors and maybe write him a nice thank you note for bringing them to their attention. ---
