Hey Miller, See any difference between my post, which uses the words, “Voter base,” and your post, which says “people,” in the analogous spot (and has a link to Trump mocking a disabled reporter?) Any? At all? So, since you explicitly asked to be told again, the answer is: insulting individuals is different than insulting whole swaths of voters. Trump’s act was the act of a bully, picking on a single individual. Clinton’s (and the OP’s) denigrates a whole chunk of the population, some of which needs to be captured in the next election. Did you really not see that before now? ---

What’s the best approach then? Pandering to deplorables got them wins but was morally dubious. Calling them deplorables was probably unnecessary and backfired. Perhaps disagree with their views, don’t pander to them, but also don’t go out of your way to insult them? Actually, that sounds like a good idea now that I think about it. ---

I too would have no problem preferring somebody with Hansen’s disease (AKA “leprosy”) and limb loss as President over Obama, **if I happened to consider that person’s policy positions and abilities superior to Obama’s**. There’s nothing about having leprosy or a missing leg that automatically disqualifies one from being a good US President. Being **an actual pro-slavery racist traitor to the US government** , however, **does** disqualify one from being a good US President. Categorically.
