The article states that “the White House” ordered the vessel hidden. Just checking here, do we have any confirmation that Trump himself ordered this, or could it have been an overzealous official currying favor? Idiotic and rather insane regardless of who’s responsible, understand. ---

Based on no evidence, my WAG is that this is close to the truth. Some lower level officials, either to earn brownie points or to avoid a tantrum, made this happen without Trump’s direction. Trump is still infantile, of course, but he may not have explicitly ordered it. ---

John McCain Sr. and Jr. were both Admirals. Senator McCain was a captain which is right below admiral. He probably would have made admiral if he did not retire due to his injuries from being tortured in Vietnam.
