If you mean starting a new thread when the debate begins, it’s fine with me, if you meant can we tighten this one up, that’s fine with me, too, whatever the consensus. But I’d add that since this thread made it to 600 just basically punting around 3-4 possibilities, it’s no surprise it got silly, which is also fine with me. ---

I figure the other one can be for discussions about what will happen during the debate like speculation about the format and questions and answers as well as discussion during the debate. The question of if Trump will actually debate is still a valid one. ---

The question has been asked where I am at… It’s complicated, since time has passed, increasing the percentage chance that Trump shows, in my view, while the excuses / groundwork-laying / expectations-lowering has continued from many different surrogates and Trump himself at a furious pace. My gut is 60% no-show at this point. ---

He essentially told everyone that wants to be his VP to show up at the debate. If puts out a message tonight or tomorrow that he’s got a rally or some other event next week and “I’m not telling you who my next VP is yet, but they’ll be there”, I’d bet he’s skipping the debate. ---

Convict Donald has no idea who his running mate is going to be. His campaign has no internal search going on as far as I can tell and if he’d already settled on someone he would’ve said so because he’s incapable of keeping secrets. I half-expect him to pick someone utterly unacceptable, like Flynn or Eric, and trigger an all-out revolt at the convention. ---

At some point between now and the RNC, a reporter is going to back him into a corner/call his bluff and make him name someone, and it’ll be someone stupid. I assume his people have shortlist with their best candidates that way he’s not picking the first person he thinks of. But I’d laugh if he accidentally said Hillary or Obama or sleepy Joe. ---

Hmm, I surely wish that magic dementia fixing drug was around when my father in law needed it. Incidentally, Hubster saw a movement specialist who administered a short cognitive test. One of the questions was, name the months of the year in reverse order. He did fine. On the other hand I’m glad she didn’t ask me. trup’ll be there. It’s sure to be a shit show. ---

It was too late for Trump to back out two weeks ago and it’s WAY too late for him to back out now. He’d be giving Biden 90 minutes of free uninterrupted airtime. There’s no time to book a rally or schedule an event on a friendly channel. The most he’d be able to do on less than 48 hours notice is a phone interview on Newsmax or some chud podcast. He’ll be there, because in his mind he’s going to win bigly. ---
