And the invisible hand of the market will make the sign of the cross over your bloated corpse in a hospital hallway.

I can’t wait to see what the moron-in-chief moves onto next if TrumpDontCare is ever enacted. The guy is a policy _genius._ He must work 45 hours a day to come up with such amazing nothing.

My personal favorite is the bolded bit (bolding mine). 11 months of bilateral discussions, with literally hundreds of Republican amendments considered despite the lack of “political cooperation from the other side” (which bizarrely is always blamed on Obama despite McConnell and friends declaring on Day 1 that they were going to stamp their feet and say “no” to everything no matter what), followed by weeks of hearings and further amendments before the final vote = “a forced act”.

A few rushed weeks of behind-closed-doors drafting and meetings deliberately excluding all Democrats, followed by 11 **hours** of scheduled hearings before the vote = somehow an improvement.

And when questioned about their ham-fisted approach to legislation, their answer is that they didn’t like it when Democrats did it to them. Except as you noted, Democrats did the process in the open, taking testimony from affected groups and offering Republicans many chances to make amendments. But Republicans, as they decided on Jan 20, 2009, were not going to cooperate with Obama on anything, no matter how great or small.

Important distinction:

When _your_ (generically speaking) side wins and imposes legislation _I_ don’t like, you have forced it down our throats against the will of the people.

When _my_ side wins and imposes legislation _you_ don’t like, we won, the people have spoken, and you should get over it.
