He just knows that he needs to blame someone, and he needs to blame someone his supporters already believe to be a Shadowy, Powerful, Bad Guy. It’s not paranoid or delusional, it’s masterful. The amazing thing to me is that it’s so blatant. Right from the word go Trump has followed the fascist playbook. He’s a conman who has the psychology of his trick so well worked out that even though he’s (almost) openly a conman, and even though his every move is exactly what you would expect from a conman, a large part of the crowd is still conned.
