# Trump's bungling of Covid-19 -- worse than Reagan's on AIDS?

It’s not Trump’s fault but Trumpism, anti-factism, anti-scientism, hubris, and foolish optimism and idiotic comparisons to seasonal flu have made what could have been a relatively manageable situation a full-blown crisis. To be sure, the US isn’t the only country to have made this mistake, but I’m an American citizen so I’ll bitch aplenty when my elected officials whose salaries I pay monumentally bungle public health crisis management.

He’s the head of an administration which pulled CDC response teams from China and 39 other countries two years ago.

And let’s say that saved us $15 million per year. If we have a pandemic once every 100 years they’d pay for themselves many times over.

Hell…go with $50 million per year and it is still a good bargain.
