# Trump's immigration policies: not just racist and inhumane, but bad for the economy, too!

“Providing more work visas for skilled and unskilled immigrants seems like an obvious solution to ease the labor shortage. But it’s also the solution Trump seems least inclined to take.”

Slowing immigration of unskilled workers might make sense if US citizens were rushing in to take the jobs immigrants usually fill, but it looks like the opposite is happening – people are quitting those jobs in record numbers.
Combined with his tariffs, Trump is doing a great job at sabotaging a healthy economy. Will the numbers crash fast enough for it to be a 2020 campaign issue?
