So, depending on when they hold the vote, and if I understand this correctly, only one or two more no votes are needed. This assumes that the recess appointment idea is dead. Probably it is, as, to my understanding, the recess can be indirectly filibustered by putting up an amendment. and Thune has said he wants to keep the filibuster. I suppose the GOP could change the rules to say that a recess cannot be filibustered, but the same GOP senators who will, with polling support, block Gaetz, would be sure to vote against watering down the filibuster. ---

Another sign that the Republicans _may_ not rubber-stamp everything Trump wants; John Thune won the election as Senate majority leader though the “MAGA faction” (as the NYT puts it) wanted Rick Scott. ---

With Musk threatening to fund the primary challengers of anyone who dares not bend a knee, this whole ship is sinking fast. Let’s see if _any_ of them have the _slightest_ principles. I have many co-workers who believe that there is something known as “the cabal” that is running the country. Its supposed to be a big secret. They refuse to see what is happening right in front of their faces in broad daylight. There are no words. Idiocracy, indeed. ---

And in America, that would almost certainly have to go through the Justice Department.
