It is of course true that actual facts are immaterial to any good hate-filled diatribe, but if anyone cares Ron Unz had a fairly good analysis back in 2010 in The American Conservative debunking [the myth of high rates of violent offenders among Hispanics](http://www.unz.com/article/the-myth-of-hispanic-crime/). His bottom line:

> [@](#):
>
> The evidence presented here powerfully refutes the widespread popular belief that America’s Hispanics have high crime rates. Instead, their criminality seems to fall near the center of the white national distribution, being somewhat higher than white New Englanders but somewhat lower than white Southerners. Taken as a whole, the mass of statistical evidence constitutes strong support for the “null hypothesis,” namely that Hispanics have approximately the same crime rates as whites of the same age.
>
> We must bear in mind that most Hispanics are still of very recent immigrant origins and thus are considerably poorer than the average American. There actually does exist a connection between poverty and crime, even if liberals make such a claim, and since today’s Hispanic population has roughly the same crime rate as far more affluent whites, there is every reason to expect that this crime rate will drop further as Hispanics continue to move up the economic ladder. As the American Enterprise Institute’s Douglas Besharov pointed out in an important but insufficiently noticed October 2007 New York Times column, the last decade or two have seen an extremely rapid economic advance for most of America’s Hispanic population.[10] This rise may be connected with the simultaneous and unexpectedly rapid drop in urban crime rates throughout the country.

The problem is that there’s not really any hyperbole this time. The issue is, we’ve said that stuff as hyperbole so often that people are immune to it.

For example, calling someone a Nazi or fascist is a common epithet. So when we talk about Trump’s fascistic policies, people ignore it. We’ve called smaller things racist, so it’s hard to point out blatant racism.

To be fair, we never thought we’d have a candidate that was this bad. We assumed Bush was the worst we could get. But the guy is Jesus next to Trump.

The issue is that the “alarmism” on the left is actually literally true for once. But we cried wolf too many times to be listened to.

Ironically although you are correct to denounce hyperbolic rhetoric of “fascism”, you are simultaneously calling the Donald by the same anachronistic ideological moniker. Do you think past American right-wing populists such as Joe McCarthy and George Wallace were also fascists?

Even though he was indicted, Trump really can pick them huh?

BTW Arpaio was also indicted, that is why he is in court for contempt after all.

Trump did not care that this is **still** going on while Trump invited him to his rally.

It is that contempt charge, as well as the original profiling indictments, that Sheriff Arpaio admitted to this week.

The Republican National Committee chairman is saying having the most delegates heading into the convention doesn’t necessarily guarantee the nomination. While I’m in favor of anything that denies Trump the nomination, I have to wonder what the point is of having primaries if this is true.

The point of having primaries is for one candidate to win an absolute majority of delegates. What the RNC is saying is that a plurality of delegates isn’t enough. We actually have the same rule in presidential elections - if no candidate wins a majority of electors, the House of Representatives chooses the next president.

Yes, it’s horribly undemocratic, but this is American Democracy. 😃

No, no, he did not mean “They’re rapists,” he meant **“therapists.”** Not many people know that at least 15% of Mexican immigrants to the U.S. in the past 10 years are psychiatrists, psychologists or licensed clinical social workers who volunteered to cross the border to help white Americans deal with the culture shock of their declining majority status.
