Delaying entry to large groups of asylum seekers accompanied by unknown numbers of people whose main purpose in life is to kill as many Americans as possible is hardly a terrible thing.

Strikes me as odd that its the internment of Japanese Americans that is so often lighted upon is a precedent. Rather than the mass roundup earlier on…

It was “repatriation”. Mmm, yes. Quite.

The terrible thing is that we only show cowardice and bigotry to the world. And for no good reason based on the data and the current vetting. Others can do it and do not listen to the cowards and bigots that are recommending you to continue with that sad “logic”.

What do you know about what these refugees have to go through to get to this country? Show me how easy it is for a terrorist to slip through the vetting process. Show me you aren’t just talking out your ass when you claim that we have something real to fear.

</div>

From [CNN](http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/02/us/oregon-shooting-terrorism-gun-violence/):

Number of Americans killed in terrorist attacks 2001-2013 (combined domestic and foreign locations):

2001: 2990
2002: 42
2003: 35
2004: 74
2005: 56
2006: 28
2007: 19
2008: 35
2009: 27
2010: 16
2011: 19
2012: 18
2013: 21

Total: 3380

Total US gun deaths, same period: 406,496 (not to rehash the endless gun debate; just provided for perspective).

1. The terrorist death statistics come primarily from just 14 incidents (9/11/01 of course being by far the largest contributor); of those 14, only five or six (again including 9/11) could be fairly said to be related to Islamic extremism.

2. At any point during the past decade and a half, Islamic extremist groups have been motivated to create havoc in the US, and could have been getting terrorists into the US. Where are they? Why haven’t they struck? What is so very special about late 2015 that we absolutely must put a blanket ban…er, _delay_, on the eligibility of more than a billion people to come to the US?

Believe me, I do not discount the disproportionate impact of 9/11 on these statistics. Measures have long been in place, however, that would make exceedingly difficult to pull off such an operation again.

Likewise, I was actually in the Paris area on November 13, and most of the attacks were within a mile or so of where I used to live on the Rue Chateau-Landon. I don’t discount the havoc caused there either, but the brutal fact is, neither the Paris attacks nor the one in San Bernardino required fake ‘asylum seekers’ to accomplish.

Sorry, I simply don’t see a need for the sort of draconian measures that Mr. Trump and his tireless cheerleader **Starving Artist** advocate.

I think I’m pretty much done here.

Not the American system, and not the Canadian for that matter, as I pointed before one big factor for the failure was that Greece is on an economic crisis that it made the vetting of the refugees in Greece to not be adequate at all.

Again, this is only fear mongering by comparing the American system with one that was broken by a couple of crises.

Okay, so they suggest it. Which to me says it may or may not be true.

Still, ISIS has been quite open about their intent to infiltrate refugee ranks and I can’t imagine why they and any number of other terrorist crackpots wouldn’t try this and any number of other ways to gain entry into the U.S. So what possible sense does it make to ignore the threat and let just anyone and everyone into the country, especially when you factor in that the more easily it becomes possible to infiltrate the U.S., the more will try…and succeed. If it’s all the same to you I’d like to try as hard as possible to commit another 9/11 or worse, and the more we ignore the danger the more we make such a tragedy both likely and possible.

Why? There’s nothing anti-Muslim about saying that implementing openly bigoted and tyrannically oppressive Islamophobic policies would tend to alienate Muslims.

Implementing openly bigoted and tyrannically oppressive policies against **any** racial or religious group will tend to alienate members of that group.

If **you** had good reason to believe that reporting your neighbor’s potentially suspicious behavior to the authorities would probably get your ass summarily arrested and indefinitely detained with occasional waterboarding on the nebulous grounds that you might possibly be an accessory to some possibly nefarious plot, **you** ’d be a hell of a lot less inclined to report suspicious activity too.
