> “YOU should have left it up.” What do you suppose that means? Does that suggest that Trump didn’t take it down? Does that suggest that Trump didn’t post the original tweet? Is Trump being blamed for the actions of someone else

Someone else apparently posted the tweet on Donald J. Trump’s account, complete with the helpful “@realDonaldTrump” indicator and a photo of Donald J. Trump.

I wouldn’t be holding out hope for a Trump apology if this tweet had only ever been posted by some anti-Semite who just so happens to be a Trump supporter – as is, presumably, the case for the anti-Semite who created it. I figure this only reflects on Trump because it was retweeted _on Trump’s own personal Twitter feed_.

Seriously, that doesn’t make a difference to you? This is someone Trump tasked with speaking on his behalf by speaking _as_ him.

> [@](#):

> Dog whistle? Dog whistle _bit_, indeed. Isn’t that one of those sounds that only the offended/Democrat party hears?

No, anti-Semites have demonstrably caught this one.

> [@](#):

> As far as the 6-pointed star issue is concerned, a tweet was posted, complaints were made, the problem was quickly corrected, and the whining continues.

And no apology is forthcoming, because Trump himself – not someone speaking on his behalf, you understand, but _Trump himself_ – thinks it should’ve stayed up.

> The misunderstanding that all 6-pointed stars must be a SOD seems to be quite common.

I can’t recall anyone expressing that belief; possibly you have a cite?

No reasonable person could deny that an image with a six-pointed star originating from a white supremacist source could be anything but intended to be anti-Semitic.

The problem is not so much the star, it’s that _Trump’s campaign keeps using white supremacist-sourced material_. Maybe you don’t care about that, but I think repeatedly sourcing attacks from white supremacist websites should be criticized.

Incidentally, **doorhinge** , you apparently missed my question from before – and so I’ll put to to you again, since I genuinely want to hear your answer.

Let’s say someone creates an image of Trump’s face next to – what, is that a cross? Maybe it’s a lower-case “t”. Whatever it is, it’s wreathed in flames, because the image’s creator wanted to imply a link between Trump and the KKK.

So it gets re-tweeted by Hillary, or her campaign; it draws the predictable response; it’s taken down a couple of hours later. Maybe she follows up with – is that Trump with a Hitler mustache? Well, maybe it’s a Charlie Chaplin mustache. The image’s creator intended a TRUMP=HITLER comparison, but, hey, it’s not explicit, right?

So imagine that gets re-tweeted likewise, and she acts all innocent when it’s taken down a couple of hours later. Imagine she keeps doing that, and never apologizes, only ever throwing in a remark about how innocuous the components are. Look, here’s another ‘t’ in a different context; nobody objected to _that!_ And little kids, they draw 't’s, like, all the time; it’s their _homework!_ Plus, how great was Chaplin?

Would you say ambiguity abounds, and give her the benefit of the doubt?

(Especially if she adds that, actually, her people should’ve left it up?)

Who is this “we” you are referring to? Yellow dog Democrats? Hillary worshippers? The Democrat collective? The LSM? Larry the #10 Downing Street cat?

I’ve noticed that some people in this thread saw a 6-pointed star, and some saw a Star of David. What’s clear is that the pro-Hillary/pro-political establishment side can’t seem to convince all of the voters that their opinion is the only possible opinion. Keep up the good work.

How many voters do you think disagree that political campaigns shouldn’t use imagery and content sourced from white supremacists?

Since you’re talking about Hillary, my first consideration would be what part of this new, and different, issue ol’ Hillary is lying about. She does have an established history of doing that. My next thought would be, “If things were different, things would be different.”

Wasn’t Charlie Chaplin a child molester? Does marrying his underage victims mean he wasn’t a child molester? Or is that different?

**All democrats, many independents and many Republicans that realized that ignoring the source is foolish** , because this did not take place in vacuum. Many sources of images that Trump has used in the past that got him in trouble are also coming from antisemitic sources.

And you keep the “good work” of ignoring what was posted before, everyone can see how that tactic is not a good one when convincing others is needed. And as pointed before it was not only Democrats, but independents and Republicans that complained.

**And I was also of the idea that this only merited a “meh”** , but changed my mind as the **source** of the image and other examples of a filled star like that were used in the Holocaust were pointed out. What Trump posted with the cleaned image was also important (#America First). It was not just the star as you are still wrongly assuming. Just as you assumed that everyone knew where in a map was Greenland. 🙂

You shortened the post to remove the actual question, and then you – answered some other question for some reason?

I’m asking whether, if Hillary Clinton – or, one supposes, her people – retweeted an offensive image of Trump, complete with what _could_ be seen as white-supremacist imagery as intended by its creator, would you give her a pass and say maybe she didn’t intend _that_ meaning, and so she of course never has to apologize, even if she loudly announces that the retweet shouldn’t have been taken down?

Feel free to answer that question – or answer another one of your own invention, if you can’t supply a satisfactory response to, y’know, the actual one.

Only black lives matter is the racist group who vehemently objects to the common sense statement that “ALL LIVES MATTER”. If all lives don’t matter, if only black lives matter, that makes them a racist group.

Only black lives matter promotes violence against police officers.

Only black lives matter celebrated the 1st year anniversary of the burning and looting of Ferguson by inciting the mob to again burn and loot Ferguson.

Only black lives matter also object to members of the LGBT community holding private, ticket-only, seminars at the Univ of Chicago and have stopped LGBT pride parade. It seems that only black lives matter.

I’m still unaware of this group – it sounds like a fantasy-imaginary group.

But I’m strongly supportive of Black Lives Matter, which doesn’t appear to have anything to do with this fantasy group you’re describing.

You still can’t find Greenland? That’s comes as quite a shock.

The original creator of the Hillary/money/6-pointed star meme didn’t seem to know what a Star of David looks like. The Nazis, and Nazis sympathizers, also chose to use a 6-pointed star (as well as many other symbols) to identify Jews. Any 6-pointed star would do. All good Nazis (in the late '30s, early '40s) would immediately know that.

The meme was then reused/retweeted. The people who knew what a SOD looked like didn’t see the 6-pointed star = SOD connection. Others were kind enough to point out that even though the originator of the meme had fucked up and chose to use the wrong symbol, every one else must also jump to the incorrect conclusion that all 6-pointed stars must be a SOD. It just depends on how the meme is explained to them.

As far as the retweet is concerned, a problem was identified, the problem was corrected. And the whining about it continues because - politics. SSDD.

The problem was not corrected, unless you don’t think consistently sourcing content from white supremacists is a problem.

Do you really believe this? I find it hard to believe that you do. In order to believe this you would have to believe several things that make me think you are either 1) not capable of rational thought or 2) of the belief that society treating black lives as if they matter less is actually a good thing. To believe that it means only black lives matter, to actually believe that, requires some serious twisting of logic and a deep ignorance of context.

I going to chose to believe that you haven’t ever really given this real thought. Otherwise you are either painfully stupid or horrifically racist, and I don’t want to assume that.

So please, before you ever mention Blm again, give it some actual thought.

Jews forced by Nazis to wear 6-pointed stars knew it then, too. At that, Jews in Israel today fly planes bearing the “6-pointed star” and seem to know exactly what they’re doing likewise. And so on, such that, as far as I can tell, very many people had very little trouble realizing exactly what the creator of the image had in mind.
