I hasten to add the part I ran into wasn’t actually _on fire_ as such, but it was filling with smoke and by the time my two friends and I helped the elderly gentleman out, and turned back to see if anyone was there, the whole place had gone up. The firemen who arrived called us idiots! mm ---
