I recently came into possession of a 1995 or 1996 Toshiba Satellite Pro 420CDS laptop computer. It comes with an external floppy drive, and from what I’ve found on Google I guess the port and connector is proprietary.

I’m just wondering if there is any information about it out there, like if it has a name other than “floppy drive port” and if I can find some specs on it.

I have found some specs on the computer itself; [CNET archive](http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/toshiba-satellite-pro-420cdt/1707-3121-30006134.html), [5 page PDF guide](http://www.jdr.com/PDF/tosh-420xx.pdf), [3 page PDF specifications](http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/product/pdf_files/detailed_specs/satellite_pro_420cdt.pdf), but I cannot find anything on the port. It’s like a mini parallel port.

Anyway, it’s not important, but I am very curious so if anybody can help I’d really appreciate it. Thank you.
