Wouldn’t have it any other way. During high alerts, they’ll probably still screen everybody.
As I mentioned above, I was given a TSA Pre-check when I came into the US through Miami on December 1 without having signed up for it, so that would appear to be incorrect.
They may have extended the deadline or perhaps there are still glitches to iron out, but essentially he is correct.
The fact that free TSA Precheck ended in September is incorrect. I wasn’t merely allowed to use the lane, “TSA PRECHK” was stamped on my boarding pass.
It may in fact be ending, but it hadn’t ended as of a few weeks ago. (Actually my travel was on Nov 24, not Dec 1).
