I’m so confused. I haven’t gotten any notices from the Maryland MVA about Real ID, and my license doesn’t expire for another 2 years. The MVA has a site where you can put your license number in and see what’s needed, so I did and it says I don’t need to bring in any documents. I last renewed in 2013 and apparently Maryland has been Real ID compliant since 2011, but I have no recollection of bringing in any of the verification documents. And my current license doesn’t have a star on it. They’ve changed the design since then and there was an option on the website to order a duplicate “secure” license with the new design, so I’ve done that. Maybe that will have a star on it.

I must have given them documents at some point and just forgotten about it.

I remember when I renewed my license last year, the nice lady taking my picture let me look at the result. She retook the photo twice before we both were satisfied (as much as reasonably possible to)!
